Boleros With Attitude (BWA) is a LA based band that bridges hip hop and boleros. These two genres couldn’t be further apart but the fusion has caught a lot of people’s attention. Bolero is a latin folk genre that consists of requinto, classical guitar and three part vocal harmonies. 

Founder Jesus Martinez taps into the romantic sounds of bolero while recreating hard hitting beats, something that has not been done before. Jesus Martinez is a producer/engineer born in Los Angeles, CA. He began to play requinto at the age of 11 under his father’s instruction. Later on he commenced his academic career at Berklee College of Music finishing with a BA in Production & Engineering.

The mission of Boleros with Attitude is to celebrate and promote the culture and diversity of Latino and urban music. By tapping into Los Angeles tapestry we showcase and foster a sense of unity within different communities.

In 2024 BWA dropped their first EP which charted at No.1 on the iTunes store Latin Charts. Furthermore, they have created a community of over 150k+ across social media platforms, reaching 10’s of millions views.

BWA has been invited to perform for the city of Long Beach, Culver City and Red Bull’s Soundclash to name a few.
